A new late night spot for London opens its doors for the first time on September 11th. In time-honoured tradition of some legendary after-dark club spaces, the opening night is a work in progress; a Construction Party.

The space will remain adaptable for its carefully chosen parties – 12 this calendar year – and we’ll be fine tuning the hi-tech sound systems and feeling out the space on September 11th, before a run of London’s better warehouse/loft promoters lay down their mark from October until the end of 2010.

12 parties, all underground, all about the music.

The space is a double-arched ex vaults, full of character in the heart of Clerkenwell – an area with a real  history of Gin distilleries, breweries, venerable yet dark orders, Fagin’s lair, Lenin, radicalism and home to London’s most infamous rookeries, pickpockets, receivers, counterfeiters and strippers & grippers; Clerkenwell’s been home to London’s unwanted, misunderstood or uncontrollable for centuries. Lowlife or highlife it’s all a matter of taste.

Saturday September 11th features two arches of proper late night London sounds from Benji B, Simbad, Andy Blake, Stuart Patterson, Orin Walters (Bugz in the Attic), Dan Beaumont (Disco Bloodbath), Spin Doctor, The Secret Order and Mr Shiver.
9pm until 6am. £5 before 10pm or after 3am, otherwise £8

London has sun and we’re not used to it… which might explain sauna-like underground trains, 90% of the population suddenly becoming cyclists and men wearing flip flops with jeans – a heady mix. Consider this week’s radio show to be a cool Mediterranean sea breeze, or some other such stretched metaphor.
